The most wholesome & perfectly autumnal day out with the girlies in Greenwich 🍁 felt like stepping into a scene from Gilmore Girls except this is real life and our cups truly do have coffee in them 😉

It was such a joy to rove and frolic around one of my favourite areas in the city with some truly incredible women. I love smaller groups because it really allows everyone to feel seen and heard, and it was such a gift getting to be more intentional with a few of the girlies.

Thankful 🥹

This time last year, I was only beginning to say aloud that I was planning to publish a website and start hosting events for women in hopes of building a community rooted in authenticity, vulnerability and fun. And now here we are, several events later with many friendships made and experiences had. 👯‍♀️

It’s been hard work, but it’s been so fulfilling. I genuinely find so much joy in bringing women together and giving them a space to truly be who they are and make friends who appreciate them for all that makes them so unique.

Thank you for being a part of this community. I’m so encouraged by the way it’s grown, and I can’t wait to see how it evolves. 🫶

An update on life (and the first little announcement of our Christmas social 🤭🎄)

I don’t know why, but I find a lot of enjoyment in trying to capture the essence of a moment or place in a single frame. I could (and do) spend significant amounts of time just roving around and snapping shots of things I find beautiful. Those who travel with me endure a lot of pit stops when trying to get anywhere because of this little hobby of mine 😅 but we get some beautiful memories worthy of being framed. Just one girl’s experience while spending 4 days in Marrakech 💖

The real highlight for me was the people (and the Moroccan mint tea … and the street food that I still can’t pronounce). 🥰 Everyone was so friendly and helpful and just genuinely excited to have you around whether it be at the riad or in the restaurant.

I think it’s always good to research a place and the culture, societal norms, etc. just to be prepared. But you can’t really hold a place to the reputation it receives without experiencing it first for yourself. You may find it’s nothing like what you imagined or maybe it’s exactly like what you thought, but you’ll never truly know until you go. And I’m so glad I went to Morocco 🇲🇦

I really do love this city. I’m getting watery eyes just thinking about everything I’ve learned, accomplished and gained from moving here. It’s just a magical place, and I’ll never be embarrassed about how in love I am with London. Though I’ve got an ever-growing list of things to do and see in London, sometimes it’s best just to walk into the city without an agenda and let it surprise you. The only thing I knew I was going to do was hop on the tube and hop off somewhere I’d never been.

There’s no shortage of good bakeries in London, and I get overwhelmed by my ever-growing list of places to try. 😵‍💫I’ve eyeballed @bunsfromhome for a while but just never got around to trying them … until now. Some have said it’s overhyped, but I devoured that chocolate hazelnut bun as if my life depended on it (clearly … I was wearing it on my face like an animal). That should say all you need to know. 🥐

New York City in a New York minute ⏳

We had a long(ish) layover in NYC, so instead of airport snacks and mindless scrolling on our phones in an airport lounge, we found a storage locker at a nearby UPS store (thank God for @bouncemystuff), dropped off our bags and made a mad dash around the city to see some iconic spots. Didn’t even scratch the surface but it was fun just being out and about in the big 🍎

Before I had the audacity to dream of living abroad, I dreamed of New York City. I liked the idea of busy sidewalks, buzzy nightlife and endless opportunities. The chance to be anyone you wanted. All the movies and songs made it seem like a place of possibilities. I could feel, even for the few hours I got to be a random face in the crowd, that this city is special. London is still my favourite place on earth, but NYC proved itself worthy of all the movies and songs that’s ever been written about it. 🗽

America, baby, we gotta talk about these portion sizes … I haven’t seen my abs in ages 😮‍💨🤰🏻

Been traveling through small town America, and boy, do I have some recommendations for y’all! Hoping to publish a blog about all our stops soon. You’ll thank me for it, trust me (though your gut may not 😅🤣)

My favourite museum (@vamuseum) opened up a new free spot in East London, and I looked like the heart eye emoji for the entire visit 😍

At the newly opened warehouse, @vam_east showcases how they store, maintain and preserve items and artworks when not on display in a typical museum. I’ve always been so interested in the behind-the-scenes work at museums, so getting to look into the conservation labs felt pretty cool.

And side note (but a very relevant side note): the cafe was soooo good unlike some other museum cafes that charge you £20 for dry cakes and burnt coffee (So, thank you @e5bakehouse for the stunning carrot cake 🫶)

Who would have thought a little Tennessee girl like me would be line dancing in a place like @lilnashvilleuk on a Friday night in London with some of the sweetest girlies?! 💖🤠

Had some new and old faces come out for a Nashville-inspired night. So thankful for each of the girls who came out! Most of us had never line danced or even really heard country music. Proud of the way everyone stepped out of their comfort zone to give something unfamiliar a try.

Life’s been busy lately between looking for a new flat (which we secured!! 🙌), celebrating big milestones, traveling for work events across the UK (sitting on a train as I type this) and everything else going on!

This month is a particularly busy one, but I’ve still managed to plan an event on the 13th (there’s only 2 tickets left for any of the ladies who want to join us for some line dancing) which I’m soooo excited for. I thrifted some cowgirl boots especially for the night and they’ve kinda become my favourite thing I own. 🤠

While I might be a bit MIA on here, just know I’m working on so many different events and future trips for the R&F community. As I’m out of the country for half of July, I don’t think I’ll be hosting an event BUT I do have August’s event open for registration 🥰 and I’m really looking forward to it. It’ll be the biggest event I’ve hosted yet! But still small enough for intentional and authentic connection which is always my top priority. Stay tuned for more info 🫶

Just me roving and frolicking like a child 🫶 I love how certain places just bring that childlike wonder and sense of freedom & adventure out of you. I’ve been fortunate enough to feel that in so many beautiful spaces, but it was the first time I got to experience that in Wales. Gosh, what a beautiful (albeit rainy) place. 🌦️⛰️

p.s. I think I’m such a nature girlie now which is so funny considering I’ve literally only ever hiked/camped this one time in my 26 years of life. There’s always time to pick up a new hobby though, right?

The Charity Shop Walk + Lunch was such a success … truly the PERFECT girl’s day out 💖

We started with coffee and ice breaker questions at @601queensroad followed by lots of shopping at the various charity shops in Wimbledon. We had an amazing brunch at @megansrestaurants then finished with some charity shops in Wimbledon Village. 🛍️

Each of the girlies really embodied the values of Rove and Frolic — curiosity, courage, inclusivity and vulnerability. It takes a lot to step out of your comfort zone and meet new people, but the girls did it with such ease… it was like we’d all been friends for years!

We packed a lot into a week, and the things listed here are the highlights of our trip (two of these recommendations — Selva and Marabunda — were discovered via @laurasnextstop’s incredible Seville itinerary which I highly recommend consulting if you’re planning a trip there). There’s also tons of things we never got to try or experience (excuse to go back? Maybe if I brush up on my Spanish first. 😅)
